The nervous system diagram for kids provides a very fast and narrowly targeted system to turn on specific glands and muscles throughout the body. It is also highway along which the brain sends and receives the information about what happening in the body and around of it. A nerve is a fibre that sends impulses through the body and these fibres are covered by myelin that helps the messages go faster to the neurons. Basically, there are two main parts of the nervous system. Those two parts are the central nervous system and peripheral system.
Two Parts in Nervous Diagram for Kids
The first one is the central nervous system. This brain and the spinal cord make up the central nervous system. This brain lies protected inside the skull and from there controls all the body functions by sending and receiving messages through nerves. The second one is peripheral nerve system. It carries messages to and from the central nervous system. This system sends information to the brain and carries out orders from the brain.
There are two major peripheral system calls somatic and the autonomic. The somatic system sends sensory information to the central system through peripheral. It is also can coming from 5 senses of human like vision, touch, taste, hearing and smells. It is also sends a message to motor to get muscle move the body. Autonomic have a responsibility to make sure that all the automatic things that the body needs to do are under controlled. It works smoothly without have so much thinking. As we know that the nerves cells work with impulses from one nerve to another from nerves to muscle cells. It is also move to the next neuron sparking an electrical charge which moves the nerve impulse forward. It happens many times until the message gets where it’s going.
